Darkslide is a filmic new play inspired by graphic novels and the skateboarding community. It explores the ingenuity and resilience of teenage girls versus the power of corporate greed. Darkslide has been developed with female skateboarders. It takes audiences on an electrifying ride with our protagonists as they transform from teenage no-hopers to ultimate badasses.

We embarked on an Arts Council funded R&D of the show in February 2023 and are ready to take it to the next stage.

The Story

Teen sisters BUG and GRUDGE escape their troubled home life by skateboarding. The local park is increasingly unsafe, so they find a new place to skate; an abandoned cinema on the ringroad. But when a dangerously powerful developer threatens the cinema with demolition, Bug and Grudge must outsmart the system to save the skatepark and each other.
